Position Summary Information

Position Summary

Layout and install electrical conduits and wiring for power circuits; locate and correct power failures and short circuits; install open and concealed wiring and lighting fixtures; repair electrical motors, controllers, switchboard panels, lights, power circuits and electrical generators; maintain and repair electrical equipment and appliances; familiarity with local and national electrical codes; considerable knowledge of the standard tools, methods and practices of the electrical trade; extensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrical trade and of work with high voltage; ability to interpret and work from technical sketches and blueprints; knowledge of rules/regulations of the state electrical bureau.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years experience in the electrical trade or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

A successful campus interview and passing a criminal background check required.  

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with institutional electrical work, including in a campus environment; working knowledge of the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code; and experience working with diverse populations.
